Beach Huts
The Mablethorpe beach huts were very popular during the 2018 season and we continue to receive many compliments in respect of the refurbishment. The Queens Park huts are boarded up for the winter period. Enquiries and reservations have been received for the 2019 season.
CCTV 7 Partnership
The Town Council has resolved to explore options to ‘stand-alone’ in respect of CCTV. Work is taking place in the background in respect of equipment purchase and policy and I am liaising with ELDC in respect of transitional matters. It is noted that any stand-alone CCTV provision will not be monitored.
Cemetery (Trusthorpe)
The grave levelling and re-turfing of graves continues. The extension of footpaths and further development of burial plots was discussed by the Cemeteries Working Group and an update will be given at the October meeting of the Town Council.
Churchyards –St Mary’s (Mablethorpe) & St. Peter’s Trusthorpe
An extensive clearance of brambles and overgrown shrubbery is taking place during October and it is envisaged that such works will take place on a bi-annual basis in the future.
Clerk’s News
The publication of the next Clerk’s News will be on 26th November 2018; anyone having relevant council information they wish to be included, please forward for consideration to the office.
Coastal Community Challenge (Big Local)
The Town Council continues to work in partnership with CCC on several projects; there has been a further delay on the proposed picnic benches due to a manufacturer issue. It is hoped these will be installed adjacent to the Queens Park Beach Huts for Easter 2019.
Information on CCC activities is available via www.coastalcommunitychallenge.co.uk individual elected Members are encouraged to attend CCC meetings in their own right.
Emergency Plan
The emerging Town Council Emergency Plan has had several minor revisions and the final document will be presented to a future meeting of the Town Council. Our designated Lincolnshire Emergency Planning & Business Continuity Officer has requested that we consider undertaking a ‘live’ exercise with neighbouring parishes in 2019.
Flood Awareness
As winter approaches, residents are encouraged to consider the following three key ways to further prepare for possible future flooding:
- Ensure they are signed up to get free flood warnings to their home/mobile phone, text and email – so that if they are at work or on holiday the message can reach them. This is easy to do by:
- Calling Floodline on 0345 988 1188
- Registering online at www.gov.uk/flood
- Complete your personal flood plan and encourage your friends, neighbours and relatives to complete personal flood plans, ensuring they know measures to take before or when a flood warning is issued.
- Consider volunteering to be part of the Emergency Planning Group that works with the Parish Community Emergency Plan Team to assist in the event of emergencies within the parish.

The LALC News no.166 has been published with listings for training events to the end of 2018 released. Please note: Councillor’s training requests must be made via the Town Council office.
Mablethorpe Market & NABMA
Mablethorpe Market continues to operate to capacity with no reportable issues. The latest annual NABMA report is available online: www.nabma.com/publications/nabma.
Mablethorpe market was featured in the August ‘Market Times’ publication and we have received positive comments from traders, local businesses and members of the public.
Men’s Shed Project
The Men’s Shed project continues to go from strength to strength.
St Mary’s Conservation Area
Regular Health & Safety testing and emission recording continues to be undertaken by ELDC, and the Environment Agency continues to monitor the site. Several repairs to the pond have been made following vandalism attacks.

Mayoral Duties
The Mayor and Mayoress continue to attend local events and county civic events assisted by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress.
Prospective Councillor Evenings
In view of the 2019 elections, the Town Council will host three ‘So You Want to be a Councillor’ evenings in early 2019. Dates will be advised in the November ‘Town Clerks News’.
Informal Meeting & Sutton Colonnade
An additional Informal Town Meeting will be held on Monday 10th December at 7.00pm at the Meridale Centre, Sutton on Sea. This will follow the usual format and ELDC representatives have been invited to give general updates and answer general questions in respect of the Sutton Colonnade in advance of the planned ELDC public consultation in 2019.
